The Association for Support of Graduate Students compiles a database of professional dissertation/thesis assistants to help students of the many institutions that allow the use of outside experts for help in research design, data analysis, manuscript editing, and so forth. To be part of this database, these consultants agree they will provide services in an ethical manner, never writing text for a student's dissertation other than the minimal writing changes required for editing.
 
The specialists selected for inclusion in the database come to us highly recommended. If you know of a competent expert you think should be included, or if you are such a person and would like to be included, please contact ASGS. We'll be happy to consider the request to be listed.
 
The current database includes experts from locations around the country.
 

Always make sure your faculty/thesis advisor knows and approves of your intention to use a consultant before you contact one!
